Do you want to raise the profile of learning and skills in your workplace - or perhaps energise employees and offer them a chance to try something new? If so, National Learning at Work Day is the perfect opportunity to kick start a learning culture in your organisation.
Learning at Work Day is the biggest annual celebration of workplace learning. It is organised by the charity, Campaign for Learning, and involves thousands of companies all over the country including Fletchers Bakeries, WH Smiths, Flybe and T-mobile.
Each year, organisations put on fun and engaging learning activities, celebrate learning achievements, and promote opportunities both inside and outside the workplace. Everything from skills swaps to IT masterclasses to dance classes take place on the Day.
The theme for this year’s Learning at Work Day is Creating Connections to highlight the value in bringing people together to learn from each other, as well as the links between learning and business performance. The Campaign for Learning offers planning guidance, downloadable activity ideas, resources such as posters and graphics, planning seminars and telephone support to help you make the most out of the day.
This year, Learning at Work Day has linked up with the Six Book Challenge to inspire reading through the workplace. All organisations that involve a minimum of 50 employees and take part in the day will be put in a draw to win a visit by a top author. All the information you need is on the Learning at Work Day website www.learningatworkday.com
So whatever your workplace, whatever your needs, celebrate Learning at Work Day 2010 on Thursday 20 May.
