Skills Xtra

Skills Xtra is an exciting new programme for young people in Scotland. The programme, being developed by Improve in conjunction with Scottish Enterprise, is aimed at 16 - 19 year olds who are wanting to start a career or who have recently starting working in the food and drink industries – ie food and drink manufacturing, distilling, meat and poultry processing.

The programme, funded by Scottish Enterprise, will be delivered by LEC (Local Enterprise Company) approved training providers. They will help learners to achieve an SVQ at Level 2 and core skills. There is also some funding available to enable learners to gain additional qualifications that are relevant to the business they are working in or to help them progress to a Modern Apprenticeship.
